User Rights & Access

Australian Blockchain Association Pty Ltd (“AusBlock”, “ABA”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), which govern how personal information is handled in Australia. This ensures that we protect and respect your rights regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal data.

Rights to Access

Under APP 12, individuals have the right to request access to their personal information held by AusBlock. We will provide details on the nature and extent of the information we hold, unless a specific exemption under Australian law applies (for example, if providing access would pose a serious threat to public health or safety).

Right to Correction

In accordance with APP 13, AusBlock takes steps to ensure that the personal information we hold is accurate, up to date, and complete. If you believe any data we maintain about you is incorrect, you have the right to request that it be corrected or updated. We will respond promptly and make the requested corrections, unless there is a valid legal or regulatory reason not to do so.

Right to De-Identification or Destruction

Although Australian law does not explicitly grant a “right to be forgotten” like some other jurisdictions, AusBlock may de-identify or securely destroy your personal information once it is no longer needed for our business activities or required to be retained by law. We evaluate all such requests on a case-by-case basis, considering any legal or regulatory obligations.

Access to the AusBlock Platform

Beyond these rights, Ausblock is committed to maintaining secure, user-friendly access to your account. We implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) and role-based access controls to protect your personal data. These measures align with our broader security posture, which includes continuous monitoring and periodic security assessments.
